Not a Fun Week - OK, Let's Play Doctor.

OK, I still haven't gotten to the poker chips and slot machines I promised. I will get there but not this week for sure.

I had to many things to do this week with all the appointments to keep and i think next week is worse. On Thursday my poor wife had some kind of attach while standing at the counter at the bakery. No, it wasn't a cupcake rush. out of nowhere she felt a stabbing pain below her naval that radiated around to the right of her body into the middle of her back. She says she immediately poured sweat from everywhere on her body and became very faint.

Instead of asking the Bakery people to call 911 she limped out to her truck and drove home. By the time she got in the house she was death white and sweating. The pain she said was getting worse. I called 911 at about 12: 20 PM PDT and within two minutes the Fire Guys were at our house. It sure helps when the FD House and the paramedics are less that a block away.

The Paramedics set up shop in my TV room and started to try and stabilize her. Each time they did her blood pressure it was getting higher so, they loaded her in to an ambulance and took her to Desert Springs Hospital it is probably a mile and a half away in a straight run.

The Emergency Room was working at a good clip but, not full yet so, she got right in a bed for treatment. Great Nurse and a good Doctor started taking her vitals and asking her questions. The work up led to orders for blood, x-rays, and a C-T scan of her lower abdomen. They gave her two huge bags of fluids to rehydrate her. After a while her B.P. started to drop back. She said the pain was lessening but, not gone. Libby's Doc and the ER Doc conferred a couple times. They decided that it was not a kidney stone, a rotten appendix, and probably not at sick gallbladder. This was done after looking at all the data. So, Libby is set free with only a "It could be this, this, or something else". She got instruction on what to do if it happened again and to see her doctor in the morning. Libby was discharged at about 10:30 PM PDT.

Good friend Zara (Dog Girl) picker her up and brought her home. Another fine friend Alex (Lawyer Lady) came and stayed with me during most of this whole evening.

As you are all well aware I am not allowed to do much of anything without permission. I had been with Libby since hour one. There is never a place to park anywhere within two block of curb parking and at least three huge parking lots. I, who can't walk much at all have to walk from the truck at least for two and maybe three New York City long blocks. By the time I got to the triage at the E R they wanted to put me in a bed next to Libby.  I stayed with Libby about an hour and a half. Since no one was doing anything on getting Libby's tests done and the woman in the next bed was screaming and threatening everyone at the top of her lungs I decided I was doing no one any good and should go home. So, that is what i did.

By the time i made the forty mile walk back to my truck and drove home I was beat. It took me a few minutes to drag myself into the house and once seated in the recliner all joints and muscles in both legs turned to rock. I could no move. Therefore, the necessity for both Lawyer Lady and Dog Girl.

Thankfully, Libby is feeling much better even though we still don't know what happened to her.
